Everything you wanted to know about pandemics

We live in a world where viruses and bacteria can spread around the world in a matter of hours. At the same time, our medical knowledge is better than ever and we have a number of ways to stop diseases. Nobel laureate Peter Doherty is an expert on how pandemics develop, spread and eradicate. The Danish writer Hanne-Vibeke Holst wrote the novel “Like the Plague” in which she realistically depicts the challenges of a severe flu pandemic.

In an interview with Amina Manzoor, medical reporter at Dagens Nyheter, they discuss how our world could deal with a new pandemic. This event, which took place before the coronavirus pandemic, was hosted by the Nobel Prize Museum in collaboration with the Forum / Debatt of the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and took place on December 11, 2019 on the Under Fontänen stage in Stockholm.
